Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures 30th anniversary articles

During 2009 Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures (FFEMS) celebrates its 30th Anniversary. In honor of that anniversary, FFEMS is offering FREE access to a series of special anniversary papers from authors who published papers in FFEMS' inaugural year, 1979. These special papers, which will review the evolution of fatigue and fracture research over the last 30 years, will be made available throughout 2009. Check back often for new additions to available papers.

Encompassing the broad topic of structural integrity which is founded on the mechanics of fatigue and fracture, the journal is concerned with the reliability and effectiveness of structural components of any scale, geometry or material. The journal publishes original contributions intended to stimulate the intellectual innovation that generates elegant, effective, and economic engineering designs. It is interdisciplinary and includes papers from engineers, metallurgists, materials scientists, computer scientists, physicists, chemists, and mathematicians.
