Interactive aircraft review @ nasa.gov

Check out the latest interactive addition to the nasa.gov website - "Lessons of a Widowmaker (and Other Aircraft)" is an interactive page that describes some of the aircraft which have called NASA's hangars 'home', including the hangar at the Glenn Research Center (GRC)/Lewis Field. You can also watch videos, and play a few interactive games to test your knowledge of the aircraft featured on the site. This great page was put together by GRC's own Bob Arrighi (Archivist, Wyle Information Systems) and the GRC Imaging Technology Center (ITC). Enjoy this new interactive portion of nasa.gov!

Access hard-to-find raw scientific data with SpringerImages

SpringerImages is a growing collection of scientific images that spans the scientific, technical and medical fields. Specific topics include chemistry, materials science, physics, and more. This continually updated collection – currently over 1.5 million images – gathers photos, graphs, histograms, figures, and tables, and is available via a searchable online database.

The SpringerImages interface enables users to search faster, more broadly and more accurately, through captions, keywords, context and more, even jumping from the image to the source article and related images from other articles. Users can create personalized image “sets,” and can easily export images for use in their own presentations or lectures.

Anyone can create an account and search the free and Open Access images indexed by SpringerImages. If you have any questions, please contact Jaime Scibelli at 3-5778.

Find NASA multimedia at the NASAimages website

NASAimages.org is the most comprehensive compilation of NASA photograph, films, and video from both past and present. New material is being added to NASAimages.org on a regular basis in the form of both current and newly digitized media from the archives of various NASA centers. This site combined for the first time 20 major NASA imagery collections into a single, searchable online resource when it was launched in July of 2008. Since then, users have downloaded over 3.5 terabytes of information.

NASA selected Internet Archive, a non-profit digital library based in San Francisco, through a competitive process to help create and manage the NASA Images Web site under a non-exclusive Space Act agreement, signed in July 2007. The project is at no cost to the taxpayer and the images are free to the public.

The goal of NASAimages is to increase our understanding of the earth, our solar system and the universe beyond in order to benefit humanity.
