Library of Congress now found on Flickr

The Library of Congress (LoC) has begun a project with Flickr, the popular photo-sharing website, to make part of the Library of Congress photo collection available at Flickr. The LoC's Flickr site currently contains around 3,000 items from their vast print, photograph, and media collection for which no known copyright restrictions exist. Flickr users can add tags and comments to the LoC photos, just as they can all photos on Flickr. The LoC hopes to add to their metadata and enhance the bibliographic information associated with the items, as well as share the collection with as wide an audience as possible. Find out more about the development of this project on the LoC blog.
